Latest Kailash Travel Restriction, Explore Tibet West Region
Morning at 10:30am, Jan.14,2015 update: Tibet Tourism Bureau issued the latest permits policy that foreign travelers must leave Tibet no later than Feb.15 2015. This is for the current winter Tibet travel permits situation.

July 5, 2014: Kailash and Lake Manasarovar travel permits are applicable for group with no less than 3 people, at the same time all travelers in the tour group should have the same nationality.
June 23, 2014: Kailash and Lake Manasarovar travel permits are applicable after the meeting on June23, afternoon. The Kailash tour ban 2014 is over. This is really breaking news that all of our Kailash tour groups from middle July can be reconfirmed (already about 10 groups are confirmed for August and September onward). May 2, 2014: Kailash and Lake Manasarovar travel permits are not applicable for trip between May 20th and end of June 2014. All the newly authorized Kailash permits groups must leave Tibet before May 20. We highly suggest travelers plan their Kailash pilgrimage with entry date no earlier than June 29. However there is no clear information about when it will be surely reopen. Please do not trust any rumors saying only a few travel companies can get Kailash travel permits.
April 14, 2014, Lhasa travel news: currently Tibet Far West Region permits application is still on waiting list even though regular travel permits process is much easier than before. Pilgrims who plan to travel to Mt. Kailash, Lake Manasarovar, Guge, etc had better plan a travel B option. However, Lhasa, Lake Namtso, Nyingchi, Tsetang, Gyantse, Shigatse, Everest, Zhangmu to Nepal is fully open. Except for travelers from Norway, there is no restrictions on group size and nationality for travelling in Tibet if traveler's program does not include Kailash (Whole Ngari Region), Sichuan to Tibet (overland) and Shangri-la to Lhasa (overland), check out more Tibet travel news.
